New Horizons Singapore offers courses designed to aid project managers in learning the most essential and best practices in implementing projects. The chief goal of all courses is to help business managers become familiar with and understand the crucial techniques in creating an Integrated Management Solution, as prescribed by the Project Management Institute (PMI). The program aims to equip students with the technical knowledge in business project planning and implementation such as: risk management, scope management, and earned value projections. Aside from the technical know-how, the students will also learn key soft skills that will assist them as they become truly effective project managers. These skills focus on leadership, negotiation, communication, and conflict resolution.

Maintaining your Credential

Once you possess a PMI credential (e.g. PMP or CAPM), you are required to participate in the Continuing Certification Requirements (CCR) Program. Your certification/CCR cycle begins the day you pass the exam and/or multi-rater assessment (for PgMP credential holders) and ends on the same date three years later.

To adhere to the CCR program, you need to participate in professional development activities where you earn professional development units (PDUs). PDUs are used to quantify approved professional development activities. Typically, you earn one PDU for one hour (60 minutes) spent in a planned, structured professional development activity.

Each credential requires a certain number of PDUs per three year credential cycle.

PMP requires 60 PDUs in a 3-year cycle

CAPM requires no PDUs, but you will have to re-exam at the end of 5-year cycle

View this 4 minute video below for information regarding PDUs.
